Gain visibility into what is most valuable to your customers and users

The product backlog is an emergent, ordered list of what is needed for product improvement. It is the single source of work for the Scrum team. It is constantly changing and requires the Product Owner and the whole team to consider many options for additions, deletions, updates and reordering.

This highly interactive Professional Scrum Product Backlog Management Skills™ one-day course is designed to help Scrum practitioners improve their ability to manage all aspects of the Product Backlog and stakeholder communication.

  • Become familiar with techniques and methods to effectively manage a Product Backlog
  • Learn how simplicity can cure complicated and complex product backlogs, and get hands-on experience with refinement techniques such as decomposing and slicing product backlog items.

  • Practice: You will work in teams with other participants using a combination of instructor-led and activity-based learning.
  • Certification: your Scrum Product Backlog Management Skills (PSPBMS) certification exam is included

The course will be given in English by a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST).

Training Program

Putting problem solving and decision making in the hands of the Scrum Team is a key principle of Scrum. The framework provides places for this to happen and the values help to create an environment where every team member is heard. However, it is not always easy to have a transparent Product Backlog. Sometimes team members lose sight of the goals, don't participate fully and/or can't reach agreement. Effective product backlog management guides the team towards the desired outcomes.

Module 1 - Understanding your stakeholders
Module 2 - Defining your Product Backlog
Module 3 - Refining your Product Backlog
Module 4 - Creating transparency

Be ready for a challenge and be a challenger! You will work in teams and learn by working, discussing and doing.

The course also includes a free attempt at the Professional Scrum Product Backlog Management Skills (PSPBMS) certification exam.
