1. Introduction to Agile & AgilePM v3

• Agile philosophy, values and principles

• Why AgilePM exists and what problems it solves

• Key changes introduced in version 3 (value focus, leadership, Scrum integration)

2. Scrum Essentials (major addition in v3)

• Scrum roles: Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers

• Scrum events: Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective

• Scrum artefacts: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Increment

• Empirical process control (transparency, inspection, adaptation)

• How Scrum fits within AgilePM: Scrum as the delivery engine that feeds into AgilePM’s project-level governance

3. AgilePM v3 Roles and Responsibilities

• Project-level roles (Sponsor, Visionary, Project Manager/Leader, Business Analyst, Solution Development Team, etc.)

• Interaction between AgilePM roles and Scrum delivery roles

• Creating a collaborative team environment

4. AgilePM v3 Project Lifecycle

• AgilePM lifecycle steps from pre-project to final delivery

• Alternative lifecycle configurations

• Understanding governance and project products at each stage

5. Requirements, Estimation & Prioritisation

• Business case, user stories, and requirement models

• MoSCoW prioritisation (Must, Should, Could, Won’t)

• Backlog management

6. Planning, Control & Risk Management

• Iterative and incremental planning

• Timeboxing (including Sprints within Scrum)

Throughout the course you will work on a case study and exercises to apply the knowledge. The official handbook is included in paper-format for face-to-face courses and in pdf-format for live virtual students.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for this Foundation course. Some experience in project work is beneficial but not mandatory.

About the Foundation exam

• Format: online multiple-choice exam
• Duration: 40 minutes
• Number of questions: 50
• Pass mark: 30 out of 50 (60 %), compliant with v3 exam scheme
• Closed-book exam
• Certificate: there is no expiry date for the Foundation certificate

The AgilePM Foundation exam is taken online with remote supervision by B2B Learning via Teams, one week after the end of the course (date and time to be agreed with the group). Alternatively, we can provide you with an exam voucher to take the test at a date and time of your choice via APMG ProctorU.
