Courses 'OCEB2 Business Process Management- Fundamental Level' are available in English, French and Dutch in Brussels and Luxemburg.

Business process management (BPM) is a systematic approach to make an organization's workflow more effective, more efficient and adaptive in a continually changing environment. A business process is an activity or set of activities that will achieve a specific organizational goal.

In a ubiquitous computing environment, process modeling and understanding of the business environment are real benefits that are well established in the outsourcing of IT services.

BPM (Business Process Management) standards provide support to discover, incorporate, optimize and implement business processes. The business process management concepts and fundamental topic areas deal with the handling of business processes in organizations, the impact of process-focused structures and the various approaches of business process management. 

Our 3-day intensive training will help you understand and implement the BPM principles, concepts and processes and will also prepare you to take the OCEB2 Fundamental exam.

Course & Learning Objectives

After this course, you will be able to:

• Identify the issues and challenges brought by Business Process Management
• Understand the key principles of Business Management, Business Processes and Business Process Management
• Implement a pragmatic and practical approach of process modeling by applying the notation concept of OMG's Business Process Modeling Notation Specification™ (BPMN™)
• Understand frameworks and the interdependencies between governance, quality management and metrics
• Prepare for the exam with sample questions in group and be prepared to take and pass the certification exam

This course is designed for anyone who works in a business process environment. Typical roles include: business analysts and architects, software designers and developers.

Prerequisites

Participants must have a good knowledge of the English language.
A basic knowledge of business processes is likable.

Course Material

Participants will receive a binder with the presentation and additional material and documentation. You will also receive a copy of the book “OCEB2 Certification Guide” (downloadable pdf format). All documentation is in English.

About the Examination

The OCEB 2 Fundamental Exam covers basic elements of Business Essentials and Business Modeling, Business Process, Business Process Management, Business Process Modeling and essential and widely-used industry frameworks. Holders of the OCEB 2 Fundamental Certification have demonstrated their knowledge and modeling skills to be productive members of a BPM project team on either the Business or Technical side of the aisle.
Optional: delegates attending our training can order a voucher to pass their test in a Pearson VUE Testing Center.

The OCEB 2 Fundamental Exam includes 90 multiple-choice questions. You have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The questions are all in English. If English is not your native language, you will be granted an extra 30 minutes. To pass, you need 69 % = answer at least 62 out of 90 questions correctly.
If you fail the test, you must wait at least 30 days to repeat the exam. A maximum of 3 attempts is permitted within 12 months.

About the Certification Body

The OMG Certified Expert in Business Process Management (OCEB 2™) is a professional certification program developed by the Object Management Group (OMG). OMG is an independent organization known as the standardization body developing programs in the areas of Business Process Management and Business Process Modeling. Different certification levels are available: OCEB Foundation, covered by this course; OCEB Business Intermediate and Advanced; OCEB Technical Intermediate and Advanced.
